Bedrooms are one of my favorite things to pin (you can look it up here if you need proof). There are so many great ideas out there that I wish I could collect them all.

Instead of continuing to lust after them I became determined to create a warm and inviting space for us.

Most of the rooms above have great color and patterns, amazing bedding, headboards and usually an Ikea dresser (which lucky for me I already have).

And here is my version:

To add color, I decided to frame the bed with curtains

Try to simplify the ascents - keep it personal

Of course I still have more ideas, but I love how it's turned out so far!

Nooks & Crannies

We have this little vignette in between our bedroom and bathroom that screams, "PAY ATTENTION TO ME!"

Not trying to disappoint it, I've tried several different looks but none of them took. Of  course this leads me to search for some interweb inspiration.

Both of these are pretty easy to recreate when you think of it; all you need is a small piece of furniture, a mirror and some accessories. And in our case no function is needed other than beauty, so the options for nick knacks was unlimited.

Again with my wishful thinking. But no plank wall or sconces for us. Here's what we could do though:

Now we have a place that holds items that are dear to us and helped satisfy the vignette's temper tantrums....at least for now!

Game Storage

It can be a little surprising knowing that two adults require game storage. Over the years we've gotten rather competitive so we keep expanding our collection (also living next door to a Toy's R Us doesn't help).

I used to keep the games on the top shelf of our closet but it always became a chore having to take them down and our laziness would prevent us from ever playing.

We needed a knew spot that wasn't an eye sore as well as easily accessible.

 And then it dawned on me. I had this great cabinet from Target in the living room that we used to hold blankets and Snuggies (yes, we all have Snuggies).

I moved those into our bedroom closet and made it our go to game spot. Ta-da!

Now I can easily kick Alex's butt at Uno or be defeated by him at Battleship.

All that is Planners - To Dos - Calendars

I'm sure everyone here has asked themselves, "What is it that I'm supposed to do today?" If I don't have it written down I guarantee that it ain't gonna happen. So here are some of the items that help me answer this question on a daily basis.

First off - my right hand man; aka the 2013 planner (technically August 2012 - January 2014):

Pretty much anything with stickers has me at hello and the fact that it came in orange - check please!

Now I know that it's March and your planner needs are most likely met, but if they're not I highly recommend this book. Plus, if you are a procrastinator; you're in luck because it's on sale for just $15!

Bed Bath & Beyond

I can't tell you how handy this has become. Not only did it fill a void in my unusually long entry way but it reminds us of the big events that are happening. It really can't get more in your face than this and I have to tell ya, it really is the only way the hubs will know what's going on.

Last but not least are any and all of the Knock Knock stationary:

They're pretty much stocked everywhere you go these days so none are hard to find. I like that they are fun, colorful and help me straighten out every day tasks...or provide a helpful nudge to the hubs:

Welcome Home

The Entryway - where it all begins! And here inlies one of my dilemas; I have one but barely. It is extremely narrow, at a whopping 3.5ft wide and it's also rather tall.

First step in any room is to determine it's function. We need a place to keep Rufio's food, leashes, treats and towels to dry him off on rainy days (this is Seattle after all). I also want a catch all area for items we need to remember to take with us, or a spot to leave the every day necessities; such as keys and a wallet. Lastly, I'd like to know what's in store for the day so I won't forget as I leave the apartment.

That being said, this is what I came up with:

Ok, ok, so I can't paint or add board and batten but a girl can dream can't she?

Here is my reality:

I put up some candid family photos to add color and personality

A day of the week chalkboard highlights the big events 

This storage cabinet holds everything we need for our little boy

And the tray helps keep the "un-forgettables" in one spot

Of course, no room is ever done but I'm happy with how it turned out while working with what we've got! What does your entryway look like?

Wedding Reveal

Happy 4 monthiversary to us! Time to share the sheer awesomeness that was our wedding. I must warn you this is a hellofa long post so feel free to skip to the pretty pictures!

Now, I must admit that before I ever met my match, I already planned out my dream wedding in my head. If you know me; that wouldn't come as such a surprise and now that I'm married I can say it out loud with zero shame.

I always knew that the venue would be Urban Light Studios because it had a personality, there were brick walls, unique rooms, a flat panel TV to watch Goonies on and even a lion named Lamar. How could one go wrong?

And even though I didn't need one, I still wanted a theme. After looking through magazines and Pinterest, I settled on a tie between rustic-vintage.

I wanted the suitcases, books, old pictures, topiary, chalkboards and antiques; I wanted it all!

I spent a lot of time crafting and creating and came up with a game plan. I took pictures for my planner so she knew how I'd like things to be set up the day of:

And then it was finally showtime!

Of course not everything turned out exactly as planned, but show me a wedding where it does! In the end we were married and that's all the matters.
